Privacy and cookies
This is a translation for your convenience. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.

Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to find out, in aggregate, how many people visit the website and which pages and products interest them, so we can improve it. It is only enabled if you accept it in the notice shown when you arrive: until then no Google code is downloaded and no analytics cookie is set. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with every signal denied by default, and we do not enable any advertising features.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets these cookies:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguish visitors with a random (pseudonymous) identifier | 2 years |
_ga_* | Keep the session state | 2 years |
We also store your choice in your browser’s local storage (chigui-consent) for 12 months, so we
don’t ask you on every visit. After that, we will ask you again.
Legal basis: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR and art. 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI). You can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it:
Provider: Google Ireland Limited. Data may be transferred to Google LLC (United States), a company that participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account, 14 months at most. Forms
This website has no forms or user accounts: we don’t ask you for any personal data.
Chigüi’s game
Chigüi’s game can be played on this website (on the game page) and with its Android app, “Chigüi”, on Google Play. It is played mostly by children, so we built it not to collect any data:
- No accounts, no ads and no analytics. The game doesn’t ask for a name, email or any other data, shows no ads and sends no usage statistics or personal data to anyone.
- The save stays on your device. Progress, coins and accessories are stored on the phone or in the browser itself. We have no server where they are kept.
Android app
- No internet. The app has no permission to use the internet: it works offline and cannot send data.
- Steps (“physical activity” permission). For walks with Chigüi, the app reads the phone’s own step counter, also while the app is closed, and turns steps into fun and in-game coins. That is why Android asks for the physical activity permission. Steps never leave the phone and are used for nothing else. If you don’t grant the permission, or remove it in Android’s settings, you can keep playing: walks can also be done by tapping the paws.
- Purchases. Accessory packs are bought through Google Play, with the device’s Google account; if it is a child’s account, with a parent’s approval through Family Link. Google handles the payment: we never receive your card or account details. Google Play tells the app which packs the account owns, so they can be restored on another device, and gives us the order details needed to handle it (for example, a refund). Google’s privacy policy applies.
- Backup. If Android backup is on, the system includes the save in your Google account’s backup, so it can be restored on a new phone. Google manages it, and you can turn it off or delete it in Android’s or your Google account’s settings.
- Deleting the data. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android’s settings, removes the save from the phone. As we keep nothing, there is nothing else to delete.
On the web
The web version keeps the save in your browser’s local storage. On phones it uses the motion sensor to count steps during walks; that data is processed in the browser and never sent. This website’s analytics (see Cookies and analytics) only measures visits to the game page, and only if you accept; the game itself sends nothing.
Hosting
The website is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any server, Cloudflare may process technical connection data (for example, the IP address) to serve the page and protect it against abuse.
